How to take Screenshot on HP Laptop or Desktop Computer?

HP is one of the world’s largest technological corporations, with a slew of award-winning technologies under its belt. It is a leading producer of desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and various computer peripherals like keyboards, mice, and webcams. (how to screenshot on different devices)

People spend a lot of time on the computer performing various jobs and investigating various choices like the use of a computer/laptop has become a necessity.

They are becoming increasingly accustomed to the various capabilities of computers, but some of us still have difficulties executing some chores, one of which is how to snap a screenshot on an HP laptop or desktop computer.

When working with the customer service team to address an issue, the screenshot is crucial. For example, the money transfer you sent to your friend by wire transfer was unsuccessful.

The money is taken out of your account, but the recipient has not yet received it. In that situation, the bank may request a screenshot of the transaction in order to fix the issue.

So screenshots have been increasingly popular in recent years, and you now know how to take screenshots on laptops, desktops, and other devices like tablets.

This guide will show you how to take screenshots on HP laptops and desktop PCs. You can look through other articles on this page to understand how to screenshot on different devices.

On an HP laptop or desktop computer, there are several ways to take a screenshot.

On HP laptops and desktop PCs, there are various ways to snap screenshots.

On an HP laptop, you can take a screenshot with a keyboard shortcut, the built-in screenshot program, or a trusted third-party tool that you may download and install on your laptop or desktop computer.

In today’s post, I’ll go through some of the simplest and fastest ways to capture screenshots on your HP laptop or desktop computer.

The easiest option is to use keyboard shortcuts, but you’ll need an editor to edit and save the screenshot in that instance.

However, you can only alter the snapshot and save the final Screenshot if you use built-in or third-party software.

I’ll go over all of these approaches, and you can utilize any of them depending on your needs.

Method 1: Shortcuts on the Keyboard (how to screenshot on different devices)

Keyboard shortcuts are the quickest way to take a screenshot on an HP laptop or desktop computer, as I previously stated.

However, if you want to crop the screenshot or add text, you’ll need a picture editor.

You can’t choose any section of the screen while using the keyboard shortcut approach because it captures the entire screen of your laptop or desktop computer.

With a keyboard shortcut, you can’t get a partial screenshot. However, if you want to capture the entire viewable screen, it’s a good option.

Here are the instructions to follow!

  1. Position yourself in front of the screen you wish to capture. You might want to capture a screenshot of your desktop screen or a webpage.
  2. On the keyboard, press the “PrtScr” key, which will take a screenshot and copy it to the clipboard. If you can’t find the “PrtScr” key, check for one with a name that seems similar, such as “Print Screen.” The screenshot/print screen key is usually found near the “Delete” key in the top right corner of the keyboard.
  3. Open your preferred picture editor and hit the “Ctrl” + “V” keyboard shortcut. It will paste the screenshot and allow you to make changes if necessary.
  4. Select “Save.” Give the file a name and save it.

That concludes our discussion.

Method 2: Keyboard shortcut (how to screenshot on different devices)

  1. Go to the screen you wish to capture.
  2. Hold down “Shift+Windows+S” for a little moment, and the screen will dim.
  3. The cursor will be replaced by a crosshair. With a mouse click, choose a section of the screen and release it.
  4. The crosshair will vanish, and the section you chose will be copied to the clipboard.
  5. Press “CTRL+V” in an image editor.
  6. Save the screenshot in the format of your choice. JPEG or PNG are both acceptable options.

Method 3: Using a Snipping Tool

Snipping Tool is a built-in screenshot capture program for the Windows Laptop/Desktop computer. You can use this approach if you don’t want to utilize the first method because it requires a separate editor program.

Cropping, inserting text, and highlighting anything in a screenshot are all fundamental editing options in the Snipping app.

The advantage of this method over the first is that you can take screenshots in a variety of shapes and sizes, including freeform, rectangle, window, and full screen, depending on your needs.

The steps are as follows:

  1. Position yourself in front of the screen you wish to capture.
  2. Go to the start menu and type in Snipping Tool. Continue to the next step after opening the app.How to Screenshot on HP Laptop or Desktop Computer
  3. Select “New” and then “Freeform snip,” “Rectangle,” or “Other” from the drop-down menu. You can also pre-select it by clicking the downward arrow as seen in the image below.
  4. Drag the area you want to select with the left click of the mouse. Finally, let go of the mouse button to take a screenshot. You won’t need to select an area if you’ve chosen Windows or Full-screen mode. It will take a screenshot of the entire window or laptop screen.
  5. If necessary, you can then execute the fundamental editing work.
  6. Save the file to a location of your choice. That is all there is to it.

Method 4: Using Chrome Extensions (how to screenshot on different devices)

One of my favorite ways to grab a quick screenshot in a browser is to use this method.

If you want to capture a screenshot of any website you’ve opened, this method is a decent option. A screenshot of the computer desktop or any file or folder on the computer is not possible.

The Chrome add-on is required for this method to work. On an HP Laptop, there are a plethora of decent chrome extensions for taking screenshots. Awesome Screenshot is the one I favor.

This method’s steps are as follows:

  1. Search for Awesome Screenshot at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions.
  2. In Chrome, install the Awesome Screenshot plug-in.
  3. After you’ve added the extension, click it, and you’ll see many options under the “Capture” tab. You have the option of taking screenshots of the Visible, Fullscreen, or Selected areas.Method-4:Using Chrome Extensions
  4. Select the option that best suits your needs. If you want to capture the visible part of the screen, for example, choose it and it will take a snapshot of the screen and open it in a new tab.
  5. You can perform basic editing actions and save the content to your laptop/selected computer’s place.
